<div style="text-align: justify;">Poème écrit pour le concours des langues latines, célébrant l'accession du cardinal Joachim Pecci au trône pontifical en 1878 sous le nom de Léon XIII, pape réputé "social". Darius Rossi était le directeur de la revue <em>Le Propagateur de la Méditerranée et du Va</em>r, fondée et publiée au profit des pauvres et des établissements de bienfaisance du département. Progressiste, il défendit le darwinisme et la génération spontanée, occupant par là-même une position à part dans le Félibrige de son temps.</div>
