<div style="text-align: justify;">Jean-Baptiste-Alfred Gibaudan est né à Cazouls-lès-Béziers le 29 août 1873. Fils de Louise Gibaudan, époux de Françoise Julie Laget, il était clerc d'huissier et publiciste. Félibre languedocien, il fut rédacteur en chef de <em>La Lanterne biterroise</em> (1912-1913) et collabora à <em>La Campana de Magalouna</em>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Alfred Gibaudan fut mobilisé comme Caporal au 96ème régiment d'infanterie. Il meurt au cours de la Première Guerre Mondiale à l'âge de 44 ans le 8 mars 1918 à Béziers, victime d'une bronchite grippale contractée en service. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Dans ce recueil, sous-titré « mescladís risolièr de contes, galejadas, cançons e scènas realistas en parladís lengadocian » (mélange humoristique de contes, histoires drôles, chansons et scènes réalistes en parler languedocien) Alfred Gibaudan rassemble plusieurs de ses textes humoristiques en occitan construits autour de personnages récurrents, comme Fineta, sans doute bien connus du public biterrois. Il dédie son recueil paru en 1916 aux soldats du Midi au Front. </div>

Moriguèt pendent la Primièra Guèrra Mondiala a l'atge de 44 ans lo 8 de març de 1918 a Besièrs, victima d'una bronquitis gripala contractada en servici. <br />Dins aqueste recuèlh jos-titulat « mescladís risolièr de contes, galejadas, cançons e scènas realistas en parladís lengadocian », Alfred Gibaudan recampa mantun de sos tèxtes umoristics en occitan bastits a l'entorn de personatge recurrents, coma Fineta, sens dobte plan coneguts del public besierenc. <br />Dedica lo recuèlh paregut en 1916 als soldats del Miègjorn al Front.</div>
