<div style="text-align: justify;">Le samedi 9 juin 2018, dans le cadre du festival Tarba en Canta, Philippe Biu, docteur en cultures et langues régionales de l'Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, présentait une conférence intitulée : « Langage sifflé d'Aas » : définition, origines et renaissance de ce mode de communication particulièrement rare que l’on croyait éteint...<br /><br /></div>

Le petit village d’Aas, en vallée d’Ossau, a accédé à une certaine notoriété lorsque la communauté scientifique et le grand public ont découvert que ses habitants communiquaient à très grande distance au moyen de modulations sifflées. Ce mode de communication, répandu dans le monde entier mais dans des environnements d'accès difficile (montagnes, forêts) est désormais protégé et enseigné à l'école et à l'université.
