<div style="text-align: justify;">Créée en 1965 par un collectif d’écrivains et intellectuels occitans autour de Robert Lafont, la revue <em>Viure</em> est le premier organe qui rassemble et exprime publiquement les grands thèmes de pensée et d’action qui feront les « 20 Glorieuses » de l’occitanisme. Le premier numéro s’ouvre par un manifeste « Revolution occitana » signé collectivement - mais sans doute rédigé par Yves Rouquette et Robert Lafont - et qui annonce les écrivains occitans réunis autour de <em>Viure</em> : « … sèm prestes a totes las contèstas, portats que sèm per un movement universal, segurs d’ausir dins lo borbolh de la batèsta un pols de mond picar en abans de l’istòria. »</div>
