<div style="text-align: justify;">Ce long poème en douze chants est dès l'origine édité avec une traduction littérale française, ce qui a certainement contribué à séduire le public parisien. C'est l'œuvre qui a rendu célèbre Frédéric Mistral, on dénombre une trentaine de traductions en langues étrangères. <br /><span>En 1861, </span><em>Mireille</em> vaut à Mistral le prix Monthyon décerné par l'Académie française.
